YSL’s Neo Double bag
I am really loving the current trend for thin leather totes from Celine’s cabas (which you all know since I talk about it all the time!) and Loewe’s elegant Ala tote to Balenciaga’s edgy Papier tote. And here’s another one to add to the list – Yves Saint Laurent’s Neo Double tote.
I’ve always been partial to a bit of YSL and Stefano Pilati is one of my favourite designers. Even before Celine was doing minimalism, YSL was paving the way with its clean and classic bags, sans logo including the Downtown, Muse, Muse Two and The Roady.
The Neo Double is not a new shape – it was launched in 2006 – but its been tweaked this time with cool details that I love. The handles can be worn long (on the shoulder) or shortened for a hand held look. It comes with a small pouch in a contrasting colour for your essentials and…wait for it… it is reversible so it really is two bags for the price of one (I am a sucker for what I like to call “2 -for-1 styles” – think it helps me justify the prices!). There are five colour options: gold/beige and bronze/black (for Dubai), beige/black (for the city), indigo/oceanique (for the Maldives) and orange/fuschia (great for colourblocking!)
Prices range from HK$10,990 to HK$14,940 from Yves Saint Laurent, Alexandra House, Central, Hong Kong, tel: +852 2868 0092.
