Fashion lovers who shop regularly in Tokyo will recognise the name Wut Berlin. This cult boutique located in Omotesando is known for capturing the edgy fashion of its namesake city, and stocks cool yet under the radar brands from Germany, Japan and Europe, including Hong Kong favourite Daydream Nation.
The store’s founder and buyer Yann le Goec decided it was time to bring the concept to the rest of Asia and as such has opened its first pop-up shop in Hong Kong at Daydream Nation’s boutique in Wanchai East.
The offerings, as you can imagine, are wild and funky with a dash of street cool thrown in. There are around 20 brands available, covering categories like ready-to-wear and accessories, with many of them specialising in one-of-kind, handmade pieces. If you are looking for the future Comme des Garcons, chances are you will find it at Wut Berlin.
The majority of the labels are debuting in Hong Kong for the first time and include Ground Zero, Tata Christiane, Starstyling and Hui Hui. Make sure you take a look at Berlin-based Anntian which is giving London’s digital printers a run for their money thanks to their eco-friendly luxe materials and intense, graphic prints. I also love Vladimir Karaleev’s avant garde yet conceptual pieces, innovative silhouettes and architectural shapes.

The pop-up store will close on May 20th (don’t forget to check out Daydream Nation’s current spring/summer collection upstairs!).
