Kotur’s first ever boutique, worldwide
‘Tis the season – not only for parties but shop openings! In the past few weeks we have welcomed several new boutiques and brands to Hong Kong proving that we are still Asia’s undisputed style capital (take that Singapore!)
Those who live in Kowloon will have already spotted Sogo Tsim Sha Tsui which features your usual roster of designer brands. It’s also home to the first ever retail boutique for homegrown accessories brand Kotur (Shop G-13B, SOGO TST, Sheraton Hotel Shopping Centre, 20 Nathan Road, Tsim Sha Tsui, Hong Kong) which is known for its bejewelled minaudieres and clutches. At the boutique you can also find other must-haves from Kotur’s ever growing collection of accessories which now includes shoes, key fobs, notebooks and pouches. For the upcoming holiday season, the store is also offering an exclusive monogramme service for its Get Smart Bag, which is a stylish hands free minaudiere that is designed to fit your iPhone. It’s the perfect Christmas party essential (or gift!)
Monica Vinader’s Alma earrings (left) and Riva ring (right)
After raving about British jeweller Monica Vinader last year, you can now try on her jewellery in person at her first store in Asia (Shop 1025C, Podium 1, IFc Mall, Central, Hong Kong). Monica’s designs are so desirable because they are simple, elegant, beautifully made and most importantly, affordable. The boutique may be small but it houses most of her collections from her must-have Fuji friendship bracelets to gemstone earrings, rings and bracelets. My favourite are her diamond collections such as the Skinny which features a delicate bar of diamonds as its main motif. She has also created the super chic Alma cocktail earrings exclusively for the Hong Kong store. Customers are also able to personalise their jewellery with monograms, names and messages for free, in-store.
Proenza Schouler Elements
Last but not least is hip New York brand Proenza Schouler, who opened their first ever store in the city in West Kowloon (Shop 1061, Elements, 1 Austin Road West, Tsim Sha Tsui, Hong Kong). The boutique itself is a tribute to the brand’s urban style with graphic minimal lines and plenty of sandstone marble, onyx and concrete. That being said, it’s the ready-to-wear you want which this season includes cool multi-layered prints and spongy jacquard separates. There is also a selection of accessories available including a limited edition of their best-selling PS1 Tiny bag in cobalt and black leather.
