Any major shoe lover will know the brand ASH. The Paris based label was founded by Leonello Calvani and Patrick Ithier 15 years ago, and has since amassed a cult following thanks its urban yet glam silhouettes – think metallic hi tops, embellished sneakers and slouchy boots –at affordable prices.
For spring, the brand has stepped out (pardon the pun) and launched its first ever ready-to-wear collection designed by Frenchman Kevork Kiledjian, whose own namesake collection attracted fans like Gwyneth Paltrow, Kate Moss and Michelle Obama.
Going from accessories to clothing isn’t the normal trajectory in the fashion world, especially considering that accessories are the bread and butter of most fashion houses. That being said there is a lot to covet in the debut spring/summer 2015 collection.
There is something for everyone from sporty to edgy pieces including playful dresses, cropped tops, salvaged denim, mesh sweatshirts, printed leggings and trench coats. There are also some fantastic leather pieces from quilted shorts to trousers.
ASH of course is known for its details so that’s what elevates the look of the collection. My favourite piece is the oversized neoprene perfecto (biker jacket) in a chic shade of pink. It’s a cool mix of sophisticated and street – and matches perfectly with the shoes!
