These days every brand is offering up their version of the stylish yet comfortable sneaker but there’s nothing out there that can be customised from start to finish.
That’s where MYSWEAR steps in (pardon the pun). MYSWEAR is actually an off-shoot of SWEAR, a hip British footwear brand founded in 1995 by Portuguese entrepreneur José Neves (who also happens to be the mastermind behind online shopping portal Farfetch.com). To mark the brand’s 20th anniversary, MYSWEAR was launched last year offering customers the option of creating their own bespoke pair, making it perfect for millennials looking for the ultimate kick ass trainer.
At the moment, MYSWEAR offers 16 unisex silhouettes, many taken from old SWEAR styles that are inspired by the London street scene. Core styles include lace ups, pointed derbys, hi-tops and of course slip-on trainers a la Celine.
What makes MYSWEAR that more fun is the fact that you can play boss and design you own pair using 3D technology online. The options are endless from colours to materials including nappa leather, suede and ethically sourced exotic skins such as python, ostrich and crocodile. Every little detail can be changed from the colour of the toe cap to personalised initials which can be embossed or foil stamped on any part of the shoe. Once the design is completed online, it’s sent off to Portugal where it is made entirely by hand. Orders take between four to six weeks to be delivered.
