Customisable Dionysus bags on display

Judging from the recent street style snaps at fashion week, Gucci mania is showing no sign of slowing down. Luckily for Hong Kongers they can satiate their Gucci cravings at the brand’s revamped store at Elements which covers a whopping 6,400 square feet and boasts a new design concept by creative mastermind and designer Alessandro Michele (think romantic meets industrial complete with Persian rugs and velvet armchairs).

The real draw for fans however will be the newly launched Gucci DIY service, which is available for the first time in Asia, after successful launches in Milan and Paris. In keeping with Michele’s aesthetic, which celebrates individuality, customers can personalise a selection of products including Gucci’s best-sellers – the Dionysus handbag and Ace trainers.

Gucci’s Ace Trainers

The Ace trainers are unisex and come in only white (which is obviously the new black), although Gucci’s signature red and green covers the back of each shoe. Each pair can be customised with up to four letters, in six funky colours including orange and blue. It takes around four weeks for delivery and prices start around HK$6,300.

For the Dionysus chain bag, however, the sky is the limit. There are 13 models to choose from, each one designed like an art work from which you can add or subtract. The possibilities are endless (there are over 1,000 combinations) thanks to a variety of adornments including embroidered or encrusted snakes, birds, flowers, letters and even buckles. Trims can also be updated in various leathers, including suede and precious skins such as crocodile. For that final touch, they also offer the option of personalising the inside of the bag with your initials. Prices range from HK$31,000 to HK$390,000 depending on size and material. For something more classic, there is also the Dionysus Top Handle bag available in two sizes and various materials.

It’s time to get your Gucci on!
