Despite the recent controversy surrounding Marc Jacobs co-founder and CEO Robert Duffy, he managed to fly into Hong Kong last night for Marc by Marc Jacobs’ 10th Anniversary celebrations. Geared at a younger, fun crowd, the label has made a killing with its quirky tees and accessories that appeal to fashionistas in the making.
To celebrate this milestone, the brand has set up a pop up store at Harbour City which can best be described as a candy store, stocked full of fashion goodies. Jacobs has designed an exclusive anniversary capsule collection consisting of men’s wear, women’s wear and a truck load of accessories featuring the brand’s most iconic prints and silhouettes from the past 10 years.
The ladies will definitely recognise the plaid print (from autumn/winter ’07), frida flagprint (spring/summer ’05) and puffpall print (spring/summer ’02) which now appear on a series of retro style summer dresses (HK$2,690). For the guys, look for Jacobs’ signature fatigues, military vests and jackets (HK$1,890 to HK$2,890). Other knick knacks include fruit pendants and pins, scarves, belts and even umbrellas.
The Marc by Marc Jacobs Pop Up Store is open until April 24 at Atrium II, Gateway Arcade, Harbour City, Tsim Sha Tsui, Hong Kong.
