A necklace by Dominique Denaive.
Although I love diamonds as much as any other woman, I am a big fan of costume jewellery. It’s way more fun and it can really transform an outfit while expressing your own personal style.
One of my favourite designers as of late is French jeweller Dominique Denaive. Although I travel frequently to Paris for work, I was actually introduced to his designs by a very stylish friend of mine who shops there.
Dominique has designed for luxury fashion maisons including Christian Lacroix, Kenzo, Balenciaga, Rochas and Christian Dior and also boasts his own boutique in Paris around the corner from fashion mecca Colette. Chic Parisians have been wearing his brightly coloured resin pieces for over three decades, and I have started to amass my own collection.

Although his designs are quite classic, they are not for fashion wallflowers – these are bold statement pieces that have an ethnic feel thanks to their unexpected colour combinations. Think Marni but more chic. Everything is made from high quality resin and wouldn’t look out of place on the Paris runways (I can see them matching perfectly with Burberry Prorsum’s spring/summer tribal-inspired collection).
While his designs are only available in Paris, Dominique will open a pop-up shop in Hong Kong for a limited time at The Strand spa. Many of his best-sellers will be available including his resin cuffs (I am loving the clear style – it’s super futuristic), rings and multi-strand necklaces. They make fab Christmas presents or are perfect for fashionistas who are looking to treat themselves! Prices range from HK$395 to HK$3,500.
The Dominique Denaive pop-up shop will be open from Tuesday December 6 to Saturday December 11 at The Strand, 18 Cochrane Street, Central, Hong Kong. For inquiries please contact firstname.lastname@example.org or tel: +852 2850 7686. Check out Dominique’s designs at www.denaive.com.
