If you’re a regular reader, you will know we have a thing for Scandinavian brands (it’s all about the Nordic cool look). While most of them are known for their very pared-down, minimalist style, Stine Goya is the complete opposite.
Stine Goya studied at Central Saint Martin’s and founded her eponymous label in 2006. Looking to bring something different to the Scandi fashion scene, she started to develop her own artistic prints (she specialised in print design at school). Although she draws inspiration from the art world, she manages to create looks that are still in keeping with the Scandinavian fashion MO – timeless without being too bold or overwhelming. Her fabrics are never too heavy and she plays with draping to create flowy yet contemporary silhouettes.
The autumn/winter 2017 collection, which is now in stores, is all about textures. Tailored black pieces are decorated with rubberised gold rectangles that resemble studs. Others feature a sprinkling of colourful glitter. Her hand painted prints include bees set against dark backgrounds or a thick colourful lines resembling the branches of trees.
